Our Daily Bread Designs: Blessed Christmas
Hello there, and thanks for stopping in - it's lovely to have you!
I've been meaning to upload this Christmas card for a few weeks but lost the Card Recipe after I had uploaded it to another on-line gallery! Doh! This afternoon, I finally found it! This is one of several Christmas cards I made for an interstate store who asked me to design some cards as a "try-out" for their DT, and they were happy with what I made, so I'm in - woo hoo! It's not a "pressure" thing where they have a Blog or Weekly Challenges - just purely and simply cards that they take as samples for all their Craft Shows that they do around Australia, and when they are not at Shows, will be displayed at their shop. Gee, I was sooooo nervous making the cards - I'm not a confident person and it's been one of my long-term goals to be a part of a DT, so I feel incredibly excited and very blessed:
I'm finding that my camera does NOT like photographing reds for some reason and it was hard to adjust the photo with my Photo Editing Software to make the card look like it is supposed to. Trust me - the ribbon, designer paper and cardstock is a bit brighter IRL and nowhere near as dull as in the photo. Oh well! I might have to invest in Photoshop......
The image was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and I sponged around the edges with Peeled Paint (green) Distress ink. The image panel is popped up on 1mm mounts (dimensionals). I ran the burgundy cardstock background through my Cuttlebug with the (large) Jamara embossing folder - LOVE this folder - it's so elegant. Not sure if you can see, but I sprayed the whole card with Irididescent Gold Glimmer Mist - the card really sparkles IRL. You can always click on my photos for a close-up if you wish :-)
I added a gold brad at the top LH & RH corners just to add 'something' - it looked kinda bare!
The beautiful burgundy ribbon was attached in 2 separate elements and the bow itself was made with my Bow Easy. The ribbon is made of silk and is the first time I have used silk ribbon on a card. I have to say how beautiful it was to work with - didn't have to fight to get it to look neat and elegant.
Here's a little pic of the inside which I kept really simple. The border was made with my Martha Stewart Arch Lattice edge punch (LOVE this punch!).
Thanks again for stopping in and have a great week :-)
