Penny Black Balloon Ride Birthday Card

Hi everyone πŸ˜€

Today I am sharing a Birthday Card that I made for my beautiful niece:

This is also my card for the following Challenge:

Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge - It's up in the Air

The main image is by Penny Black - Balloon Ride.  Isn't it just so adorable?!!  I stamped it onto watercolour paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink and coloured it with a mix of different pencils:  Lyra Watercolours, Faber-Castell Albrecht-Durer Watercolours and Derwent Inktense.  I added some white highlights on the balloons using a White Gel Pen then added Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush which you can't really tell in the photo but it made them look more translucent.

Here is a close-up:

I went over the black lines with a Copic .01 Black Multiliner to darken them up.   I added some Kindyglitz Crystalina Glitter glue to the bear's cheeks.   I coloured some white glitter cardstock using Distress Inks to match the colours of the designer papers and punched them using a very old but very loved punch:  Carl CP-8 Heart Duo and glued them around the image using Tombow Mono Aqua glue.  The panel and designer paper layers were diecut using Lifestyle Nesting Card Templates and my Big Shot.

The sentiment is from an old Lili of the Valley UK unmounted rubber set called Circular Sentiments - For You.  I have used this set countless times over the years and it has many different ones to suit whatever occasion you need it for.   LOTV have reissued this set as photopolymer and is available in their Etsy Store - LotvDigiShop.  I coloured the wee flowers on the sentiment with my watercolour pencils and added some glitter to them.  I used Lifestyle Nesting Circle and Nesting Scallop Circle dies to diecut the sentiment panel.

The designer papers are by My Mind's Eye - Collectable - Unforgettable and are really old - from 2013 so LONG retired.

The centre panel was punched using an EK Success Scalloped Scallop border punch.

I kept thinking I needed to add something else to my card and pulled out flowers, ribbons, twine, buttons, charms, rhinestones and pearls - but just couldn't get anything to look right and in the end, I gave up and left it as it was because I had literally spent hours fiddling and needed to get it in the mail.  Honestly it took longer fiddling than it took to make the rest of the card which came together quickly.   So frustrating!

Once I had finished my card front, I glued it to an Anko White Card Base using Tombow Mono Multi glue.

Finished size is 6" x 6" or 150mm x 150mm.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Jocelyn

Studio 73 A Country Spring Easter Card

Hi everyone πŸ˜€

Just stopping in to share the Easter Card that I made for my daughter:

I am popping this card into the following Challenge:

Splitcoaststampers - Free for All Friday F4A684 - Easter.

There are no time limits to play Splitcoaststampers Challenges so you can play a Challenge from years ago to now.

The main image, sentiment and designer papers - other than the pink paper - are by Studio 73 - A Country Spring Collection - who are an Australian scrapbooking company.  I don't know if you can buy their products in any  countries other than in Australia.

I love that there are lots of images and sentiments to use in this 12" x 12" collection so that made a quick and easy card for me to make.

The pink designer paper is by Anko - Blue Blossom Mini Paper Stack - 6" x 6" - which I bought from KMart.  I used a Martha Stewart Pinking Scallop Edge Punch to punch the pink border.

I added a 1/2" wide Pink Organza Ribbon in two separate elements - and the bow itself was made using my Bow Easy.  I glued the bow on using Helmar's Fabric Glue.

The Pink Heart Rhinestones are also by Anko - again bought from KMart.  I added Kindyglitz Crystalina Glitter Glue to the flowers in the main image and the Easter eggs.

Once I had finished the card front, I glued it onto an Anko white card base using Tombow Mono Multi Glue.

Finished size is 5-5/8" x 5-5/8" or 143mm x 143mm.

Thanks for stopping by!

Jocelyn

Penny Black Critters in Love Wedding Anniversary Card

Hi everyone πŸ˜€

Today I am sharing a Wedding Anniversary card that I made for my husband.  We are celebrating 35 years!  It really doesn't seem that we were married that long ago but somehow, it is!!

I am fortunate that my husband loves cute critters and especially cats on his cards which it makes things so much easier because I have a ton of cute Penny Black critters and loads of cats😁

This is also my card for the following Challenges (click on the underlined link to their respective websites for more info):

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - PBSC April - Anything Goes with Optional Extra of Numbers

Crafty Catz Challenge - #669 - Anything Goes + Any Cute Critter

Splitcoaststampers - Free for All Friday Challenge - F4A729 - Cute Animals

The main image is by Penny Black from the set "Critters in Love".   Isn't it sweet?!  I stamped it onto Bellbird Paperarts Watercolour paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink and coloured it with a mix of Derwent Inktense and Lyra Watercolour pencils using a #2 round paintbrush.   I punched a heart using my Carl Craft Heart Duo CP-8 punch and glued it on using Tombow Mono Aqua glue.   I went over all the black lines on the image with a Zig .01 Black Pen to darken then up again.   I diecut the image and the other layers using my Big Shot and Lifestyle Nesting Circles dies.

The sentiment is by Elzybells from their Swirly Greetings set.  Unfortunately Elzybells are no longer in business.  I still miss them and treasure all the stamps that I have.  I can't ever imagine having to part with them - I LOVE them!  I used an Impression Obsession Mini Heart Row die to add the hearts either side of the sentiment.  I glued them on with Tombow Mono Aqua glue.  I diecut the sentiment using a Spellbinders Labels Trio die and popped it up.

Here is a close-up of the image:

The designer papers are by Bo Bunny - Love Letters - and are really old - from 2012.

The teal and cherry and cardstock layers on the card base were trimmed to 1/16" using my WRMK Layer Guides.  The black layer was trimmed to 1/8".

The side panel punched border was done with a Fiskars Scallop Border punch.  I added the ribbon in 2 separate elements.  The side panel is popped up.  For the most part, I use scraps of cardstock to pop up panels instead of dimensionals.  It saves money and uses up my scraps.  I added the ribbon in two separate elements.

Lastly, I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter brush to the 3 hearts.

Once I had finished the card front, I glued it to a white card base using my favourite glue - Tombow Mono Multi.  Finished size is 5" x 5" or 126mm x 126mm.

I'll finish with a cute photo of our Freya:

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
